Hello EveryDoggie

I’ve been neglecting my blogging for a while, it’s been really hard getting into the swing of things with school, a baby, volunteer work and the fact that there are only 24 hours in a day. I will be posting weekly every Friday. In the meantime, Keep Calm and Love Your Pet! :)

For the 2nd year in a row, the ARL will be fulfilling the childhood dream or wish of finding a puppy or kitten under the Christmas tree! Adopt a pet between December 16-23 and, for an additional $25, your new family member will be delivered to your home on Christmas morning! Given people’s lifestyles, Christmas is one of the few times of the year that folks can take off to really bond with a new family member. The ARL will test all eligible animals to assure they are good with children and folks must still complete our regular adoption process. For more information, contact our Adoption Dept. at ghoffmann@animalrescue.org or call 412-345-7300.

alessiaa asked: Your page is amazing! Glad to see other people care too xoxo

Aww, Thanks so much! When I started this blog I was honestly disgusted by all the cruelty cases and my hatred for humanity was rising but now this blog has gotten me in touch with so many wonderful people and rescues that are compassionate and kind towards people and animals, I am very grateful for that. It has shown me that there are lots of strangers in the world whom I have never met , but yet, I love. Animal lovers are really the best kinds of people! :) <3

SIKESTON, MO — Animal control officers went house to house confiscating pitbulls and anything that resembled a pitbull. The family pets were taken to shelters
and many risk immediate euthanasia. Owners were not given trials, court appearances, or any form of due process. They were not compensated for their stolen property. They were simply robbed of their cherished family members, many of whom will now be killed by the state. Some of the victims mention how they tried to be law abiding citizens, and yet they were still punished. They complied with all the onerous Dog Control laws, such as dog registration, extra insurance mandates, putting up signs, and so on. Yet in the end, it was their compliance with Dog Control laws that ultimately led to the government coming to their doorstep to confiscate their property. When Dogs are outlawed, only outlaws will have Dogs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bo76_qbYJ0

Rookie

Rook loves all other dogs, does GREAT with cats and is completely mobile– to the point where he doesn’t really miss his leg. If you’ve never owned a 3-legged dog, it’s something that should be on your bucket list. Other than being very unique and having a great story, 3-legged dogs are good luck charms and an absolute HIT with the

LADIES!! Who can resist loving on a 3 legged dog?

Bonnie

She DOES NOT possess any of the negative “pit bull traits” that folks are so afraid of, instead, she is very mellow as well as incredibly affectionate. She loves to play fetch, hike, run, and ride hooked up to the bicycle. Trust me when I say that she is a doll and a complete joy to be around. To be honest, I think she would do best with a family with kids.

Pit bull left to “babysit” 10-month-old child

The pitbull definitely acted as a more attentive caregiver than the father by staying near the crying infants door for hours.

“A 41-year-old northeast Florida man faces child neglect charges after he allegedly left an infant in the care of a pit bull while he went out to drink Friday night.

According to the News-Journal, citing a Flagler County sheriff’s report, Irvine told her that he had not “left the baby alone,” because the “pit bull was watching the baby.”

The dog was sitting outside the room where the child was left. The door was shut, and the child was allegedly crying, the Daytona Beach News-Journal reported.”

Heineken’s Response to dog fighting rumor.

- The venue is a nightclub in Mongolia
- The venue hosted a dog fight of which we had no knowledge and were not involved in any way
- The venue owner has verbally confirmed that Heineken® banners are visible in the pictures because the previous evening the club had been decorated for a promotional event and he had failed to remove the banners once it was over. This event was in no way related to the dog fight
Based on this we have taken the following immediate actions:
- Removed all remaining promotional materials from the venue
- Withdrawn all current product stock from the club
- Ceased our relationship, ensuring our brands will not be available in the club again
- Instructed our distributor to check every location where our brands can be enjoyed to ensure such illegal activities are not taking place. If there is any suggestion that they are, we will take the same action and remove our products
- Continue to ensure our strict advertising and promotion guidelines are enforced both to the letter and the spirit of their intent
